Taking a Flight from Amal

So every good or bad thing finally comes to an end but it always gives us lessons and experiences that can help us for the rest of our lives. Our Amal journey has come to an end and we had a last fellowship session last week. In this session we didn’t discuss any new content or career prep related things, instead we just tried to reflect back on our journey and where we are standing now and how Amal transformed us into a more productive, supportive and punctual individual. The lead and experience has surely transformed us and it will be going to help us for the rest of our lives.

The very first thing my batch decided at the start of the last session is to give a tribute and appreciate our program facilitators for their dedication and commitment throughout the fellowship to guide, help and motivate the fellows to give their best no matter what situation it is. Mere content or online courses of fellowship would neither have transformed us nor changed our perspectives regarding career and life but it was the efforts of our facilitators combined with the fellowship content that actually taught us learnings that would be helpful for the career and life ahead. So every fellow wrote a tribute note to our facilitators and we turned on our videos in the session showing the tribute notes.

We also had a discussion regarding emotional stability and safe work environments, why both of these are very crucial for a healthy and growing career. Emotions play a great role in the success and progress of human beings. Always there is some emotion that is driving a human to achieve a goal or aim. We discussed that we need to realize and also care at times for our friends, colleagues and family apart from the work related communication. There are people around us who are lacking emotional stability sometimes and they need a little support , some words of encouragement and optimism to keep continuing their journey of struggles. We should appreciate each other and sometimes just listen to each other without involving any judgement or bias. We have to maintain a safe living and working environment where no one judges anyone based on their race, religion or backgrounds.

Amal fellowship provided us the opportunity to build a strong network and have a family of great friends and mentors. Though fellowship is ending, we have built a strong bond with our Amal family, great friends and mentors. We will collaborate and work on different projects special for social welfare after the fellowship as well. We have support groups and movie discussion clubs where we will be interacting with our friends after the fellowship discussing and presenting our ideas and suggestions. Moreover every fellow has build a strong connection with other fellows and even if a fellow just tries to reach a specific fellow individually , all the Amal family fellows are more than happy to help each other in any capacity they can. Last session has been over but fellows are interacting with each other over online platforms to appreciate and support each other. This network will surely help everybody in the long run. Our mentors have also told us that they will be very happy to guide us in future as well when we need any guidance or support.

Finally I would like to discuss how I will be using the learnings of this fellowship. This most important concepts that we learned during fellowship are the principles of progress which include Amal (Just start), Khudi (discover yourself), ek aur ek gayara (believe in team work) and kam kam kam (hard work). There are a lot of things that I wanted to do like some online courses, building a freelancing career and some healthy activities to keep myself fit but most of the times I refused to do this activities just considering that I don’t have the perfect time and skill to start a particular thing. But this fellowship has taught through practical activities that most of the times we just need to start whatever we aim to do, we get better as we progress while doing a thing. So now I will be starting the online certifications and freelance career for which I often assumed that I should start only when I have perfect skills. Also I have developed a habit to do self reflection and explore my purpose not only in my career but as a human being and an entity of this universe. I will keep continuing this habit. I have realized the benefits and power of teamwork, previously I mostly like solo work but now I have a firm belief in the power of teamwork and how team work doesn’t only produce extraordinary outcomes but it also helps the members of the team to grow in their individual capacity as well. Finally I will be working hard in whichever task I am engaged to deliver the best even if I face failures, I will keep continuing hard work. Lastly I have learned to show gratitude and spread positivity as it is the law of nature that what we give we receive the same. So I will be showing gratitude to the people around me for their help and support, and keep continue spreading positivity.

We are taking a flight from Amal to the journey of life long learning and growth. We are very excited to continue this Journey.
